(NOTE: to switch from a current random-numbered WWII Veteranl license plates to a vanity/personalized WWII Veteranlicense plates will cost $29 replacement fee.)

To Apply

• One must provide a legible copy of a DD214 (discharge from military service)verifying military service during World War II or a letter from the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs or the federal government verifying service record.

Availability

• World War II Veteran License Plates are multi-year and may be displayed on passenger vehicles, trucks and vans weighing 8,000 pounds or less and sport utility vehicles.
• Eligible for Circuit Breaker

Renewal Methods

• World War II Veteran license plates can be renewed online, by mail, touch-tone phone, or visit a Driver Services facility.
