To Apply
- One must provide a form from the federal government or a letter from the Department of Veterans' Affairs verifying that the applicant received the medal.

Availability
- Congressional Medal of Honor license plates are multi-year and may be displayed on passenger vehicles, trucks and vans weighing 8,000 pounds or less and sport utility vehicles.
- The surviving spouse of a person awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor may obtain and/or retain these plates.
- Not available as Vanity or Personalized
- Not eligible for Circuit Breaker
Renewal Methods
- The no fee Congressional of Medal of Honor license plates must be renewed in Springfield. Apply in person or mail the proper documentation to:

- Only the second set of Congressional Medal of Honor license plates can be renewed online, by mail, touch-tone phone, or visit a Driver Services facility.
