Illinois State Data Center Program Illinois State Library
The Illinois State Data Center is a cooperative, partnership program between the State of Illinois and the U.S. Census Bureau to make census information and data available to the public through a network of organizations.
Illinois State Data Center Cooperative
The Illinois State Data Center Cooperative (ISDCC) was established to carry out this mission and consists of a four member consortium. Members include the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, serving as the lead agency, and Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Northern Illinois University, and the Business and Industry Data Center at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, identified as coordinating agencies. Together, these organizations serve as the principal service and delivery units for the ISDCC.
Each organization can be a source of data from the 1980, 1990, 2000 censuses and now the 2010 Census. Data are also available from the American Community Survey (ACS), a nationwide survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. The ACS collects and produces population and housing information every year instead of every ten years providing communities with a fresh look at how they are changing.
