Farm-Related Services Restricted CDL

This is a seasonal restricted CDL that can be issued for a period between 90 and 180 days in any 12-month period and is valid only within 150 miles of the employer's place of business. There is a fee for this license and the holder must meet the following requirements:

  • Be employed by a farm retail outlet and/or supplier, agri-chemical business, custom harvester or livestock feeder.
  • Hold a valid class B Non-CDL.
  • The holder's driving record must not contain any of the following within the last two years:

    • Multiple licenses;
    • Driver license suspension, cancellation or revocation of any kind;
    • Conviction for driving any type of motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), leaving the scene of an accident or committing any felony involving a motor vehicle;
    • Convictions for serious traffic violations (i.e. speeding at 15 mph or more than the posted limit; reckless driving; improper or erratic lane changes; following too closely); or
    • Conviction for accident-related traffic law violation and record of at-fault accidents.

If you are convicted of any of the above violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle after receiving a "Farm-Related Services Restricted CDL", you will lose your restricted commercial driving privileges through invalidation and/or disqualification action. Periods of disqualification range from two months to life depending on the severity of the offense.
